WE ARE MORE THAN A SHOP WE ARE A COMMUNITY
Fall is a wonderful time for fashion
Fall is a wonderful time for fashion. Layering pieces, jackets, cardigans, sweaters and statement jackets. Fall fabrics we love are lush like cashmere, wool and weighted silk. Depending on where you live layering is the key for warmth and comfort. We encourage you to explore mixing vibrant colors with darker key fall and winter hues to bring a pop of color to your outfit. It is possible to mix your spring/summer wardrobe with winter/fall by pulling out a t shirt and layering it with a cardigan or sweater. Layering a spring/summer strap dress with a turtleneck or long sleeve underneath. There are many ways to incorporate spring/summer items into fall/winter. Styling and layering is key.
Summer in the Bay Area ?
As a small business owner in the East Bay of Californias Berkley Area we are very in tune with our weather patterns. For those of you who don't know our summer starts in September, although we have warm but mild days in the months of July and August it stays relatively temperate. This makes it difficult to keep a relevant inventory as it pertains to current weather conditions. So as always we keep out mid weight vintage Pendleton jackets and summer shorts and tank tops. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer.
Mondays are for behind the scenes
Mondays are for behind the scenes for small businesses. These days many small businesses are closed so they can catch up on paperwork, ordering and organizing. Like them I am trying to teach myself shopify marketing today. I am wondering as I dig myself deeper into it why I haven't just hired someone to help me. Well...... money I don't know where to start to find someone plus I can't afford another expense for the shop. So here I am in a cafe trying to figure out shopify on my "day off". Just another behind the scenes of a small business owner.
5 niche directions that align with my values and experience
- Everyday vintage staples. Wearable, timeless essentials like Levis, cottondresses, soft tees and chore coats. "vintage you will actually wear everyday"
- Vintage for an age specific audience. No Y2k or overpriced designer pieces. People who are sick of depop clutter and people who don't shop depop or ebay. You've evolved and so has your style. Long wear, timeless and everyday pieces.
- The Pretty Penny community is part of our story of ebb and flow with longevity. East Bay Bay Area fixture. Throw back to our origin story where we sold vintage out of our apartment.
- Thoughtfully price Vintage, Contemporary and Curated brands. People often feel priced out of vintage shops, not here at Pretty Penny. Our core principals are no gatekeeping, no hype pricing, just good clothes with history.
- Size pulling and educating. Styling and measurement help "client pulls" with expert help. Closet edits, Custom try on's. Feel Special At Pretty Penny
